Songhees
Lake Trail is located near Port
Hardy on North Vancouver Island. At
Georgie Lake there is a sandy beach and the Georgie Lake Recreation
site, administered by Recreation sites and Trails BC, with 9 campsites
and outhouses. The small campground provides boat launch access
to Georgie Lake and good fishing, as well as the trailhead for the
Songhees Lake Trail.
An angler's trail, about 5 km long and in good shape, goes from here
to Songhees Lake, where there is good fishing for cutthroat trout.
The trail is suitable for all age groups.
From Port
Hardy, drive 8 km towards Holberg
on the paved Holberg Road and turn right onto a fairly good gravel
road. Follow this road for another 5 km to Georgie Lake, crossing
the Tsulquate River. The access road to Georgie Lake is signposted.
